ee.Geometry.MultiPoint.cutLines

  • The cutLines method divides LineString, MultiLineString, and LinearRing geometries into smaller segments based on specified distances.

  • This method accepts distances, maxError, and proj as arguments for defining cut lengths, error tolerance, and projection, respectively.

  • Geometries other than LineString, MultiLineString, and LinearRing will be transformed into an empty MultiLineString when using cutLines.

  • Distance measurements for segment cuts are determined by the provided proj argument, defaulting to meters if no projection is specified.

  • The resulting segments from the cutLines operation are returned as a new Geometry object.

Converts LineString, MultiLineString, and LinearRing geometries into a MultiLineString by cutting them into parts no longer than the given distance along their length. All other geometry types will be converted to an empty MultiLineString.
