  • The operation on a user list can be create, update, or remove.

  • An update_mask is used to determine which fields are modified during an update operation.

  • A create operation expects no resource name for the new user list.

  • An update operation requires the user list to have a valid resource name.

  • A remove operation expects a resource name for the user list to be removed.
