Location extensions can be leveraged by Smart campaigns to improve the performance of your ads.

To use a location extension in your Smart campaigns, create a Google Ads location extension and associate it with the account owning the Smart campaigns.

Once complete, the location extension is integrated into the Smart campaigns.

There can only be a single enabled Google Ads location extension feed CustomerFeed linked to a business profile per account. If you want to specify which FeedItems each campaign should use, you can create CampaignFeeds that filter the FeedItems from the CustomerFeed extension using a matching function. The matching_function can reference specific locations from the linked Business Profile account.
