Code Editor Share Options Updated
To enhance transparency and security, the options to Auto Run and Hide Code when sharing Earth Engine Code Editor script links have been removed.
This change ensures that users are fully aware of the code they are running and must explicitly consent to its execution. This prevents unexpected usage of Earth Engine Compute Units (EECUs), which could potentially incur costs for commercial customers, and avoids potential browser performance issues from resource-intensive scripts.
Recommended Alternative: For sharing interactive applications without exposing the underlying code, we recommend using Earth Engine Apps. Apps provide a robust way to share polished, ready-to-use interfaces for your Earth Engine analyses.
