View a map in the cluster

  • The cluster display option allows navigation map content to be shown in the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.

  • The map displayed in the cluster using this option is noninteractive and can have a view independent of the center screen.

  • This cluster map display is only active while the user is navigating with the Navigation template.

  • A sample flow demonstrates how a user selecting a destination on the center screen initiates the appearance of a second app-drawn map in the cluster when navigation begins.

To help drivers view map content while looking straight ahead, you can use the cluster display option for the Navigation template.

With this option, you can display a map in the instrument cluster, behind the steering wheel. This map is noninteractive and can feature its own map view, independent of any map view that might appear in the center screen. It displays in the cluster only while the user is navigating with the Navigation template.
