If you have a question or want to customize your experience when using Google Earth, check out these settings and system recommendations.
System requirements for Google Earth
- Google Chrome 68, Firefox 63, Edge 79, or Safari 11.
- Make sure that you turn on hardware acceleration.
To turn on hardware acceleration in Google Chrome:
- At the top right, click More Settings .
- You can also enter "chrome://settings/" in your address bar.
- At the bottom of the page, click Advanced.
- Under "System," turn on Use hardware acceleration when available.
- Relaunch your Chrome browser and Google Earth.
Customize settings
You can customize several settings in Google Earth to tailor your experience or adjust animation speeds.
To adjust your settings:
- In the upper-right corner, click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings panel, customize any of the following sections:
- Application theme: Choose between Dark theme or Light theme to change the application's visual theme.
- Animations: Drag the Flight animation speed slider to adjust the transition speed when flying to search results or placemarks.
- Click Done to save your changes.
