Let Google Earth access your location

By allowing Google Earth to find your location through your device, you can:

  • Locate yourself on the globe.
  • Get access to info about the world around you.

Allow Google Earth to find your location

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Location.
  3. Tap on App location permissions.
  4. Find Google Earth.
  5. Tap Allow only while using the app.
  6. Optionally, toggle on "Use precise location". Otherwise, your approximate location will be used.

Find yourself on the globe

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Earth logo Google Earth app.
  2. Tap the blue Explore Earth button.
  3. In the bottom right, tap My Location.

Change your location mode

You can change your location mode to ensure that Google Earth can always find your location.

To switch between location modes, in the bottom right, tap My Location.
