Analyze data layers

This product or feature is Experimental (pre-GA). Once you add data layers to your Google Earth project, you can apply filters to visualize the data you care about. Filters are automatically saved to your project as you add or adjust them.

Note: 3D buildings may interfere with filters, especially when zoomed in. To turn off 3D buildings, go to View  >  Basemap settings  >  toggle off 3D buildings.

Apply a filter

You can filter a layer in your project based on the attributes available in the layer.

Note: Some layers may not have filtering capabilities. Layers that can be filtered display a gradient below their name in the Map contents panel.

Select a data layer in Map contents to open the inspector panel on the right. Select the Filter tab in the inspector to adjust filters.

Reset a filter

To reset a filter, do the following:

Delete a filter

To delete a filter, do the following:

1. In your project's Map contents, select the data layer that includes the filter you want to delete.
2. Select the Filter tab, then select Show more options  >  Delete.

Note: Deleting a filter using these steps also deletes the layer from the Map contents panel.
