As officeholders take their seat, there are often times where their status may
not necessarily reflect the expected state of reality (which is usually that an
officeholder is active in their seat until their term has
ended). The following table lists the enumerations for the status of the seat in
the Office entity Office entity:

active
Holding their seat and expected to fulfill the term (if
applicable).
on-leave
Was an officeholder, but is absent from duty at this time.
temporary-appointment
Holds office but not permanently in office and will need to
campaign in an upcoming election to keep said seat.
disputed
Different branches or levels of government disagree on who holds the
position.
