About AMP on Google Search

Google Search indexes AMP pages to provide a fast, reliable web experience. When an AMP page is available, it can be featured on mobile search as part of rich results and carousels. For more information on the benefits of using AMP, see the AMP Project case studies.

On mobile search, the AMP icon helps users quickly identify pages that load quickly and smoothly. When users select an AMP page, Google Search retrieves the page from the Google AMP Cache, enabling a variety of load optimizations that often make these pages appear instantly, such as prerendering. Currently, AMP pages on desktop don’t display with rich features (such as the AMP logo and carousels); canonical AMP Pages behave like standard results.

Your AMP pages in Google Search results

Your AMP content could appear in Google Search results in carousels and rich results. A carousel is a container for multiple rich results of the same type on your site. A carousel can also contain recipes and articles from different sites in one carousel (for example, Top stories). A rich result is a result that includes styling, images, and other features. For more information, see About Search Features.

Search features that work with AMP

Add structured data to your content to make your page eligible to appear in carousels and rich results. Being eligible for a certain Search feature doesn’t guarantee display of that feature.
