Subscribing to an Issue

This page shows how to subscribe to an issue in Google Issue Tracker.

You can subscribe to an issue by adding your e-mail address, or the e-mail address of another user or mailing list, to its associated CC list. E-mail addresses in the CC list receive notifications when a change is made to the issue.

You must have Edit Issues permissions for the component that contains the issue in order to add an e-mail address. If you only have Comment on Issues permissions, you can remove your own e-mail address from the CC list to unsubscribe, but you cannot unsubscribe other users or mailing lists.

Subscribe to an issue

To subscribe to an issue:

  1. Open Issue Tracker in your web browser.

  2. Navigate to the issue you want to subscribe to.

  3. Click CC Me in the right-hand Issue Fields panel to add your own e-mail address, or click Add and enter another e-mail address.

Unsubscribe from an issue

To unsubscribe from an issue:

  1. Open Issue Tracker in your web browser.

  2. Navigate to the issue you want to unsubscribe from.

  3. Click the X icon in the right-hand Issue Fields panel next to the e-mail address you want to remove. You can also click Un-CC Me to remove your own e-mail address. If you only have View and Comment permissions, the Un-CC Me link is the only option that appears.

Starring an issue

Another way of subscribing to an issue is by starring it. When you star an issue, you receive e-mail notifications, but your e-mail address does not appear in the CC list, and is not visible to other users.

Starring an issue also upvotes it, which can be an important signal for prioritization.

To star an issue:

  1. Open Issue Tracker in your web browser.

  2. Navigate to the issue you want to mark as important to you, or perform a search that returns the issue in search results.

  3. Click the star icon next to the issue title.

  4. Click Starred By Me in the left-hand navigation to view a list of starred issues:
