Apps for Android Automotive OS (AAOS) focus on actions tailored for in-car use, such as listening to media and answering phone calls.
To make their apps compatible with AAOS, app developers add auto-specific services. Users can then access the Google Play Store from cars that have AAOS built in, and they can download a version of the app that is designed for cars. These apps run directly in the car, rather than from a phone.
