Gemini Enterprise Agent Ready FAQ

Welcome to Gemini Enterprise Agent Ready! This FAQ provides information for both current and prospective members about the program and its benefits.

What is GEAR?

GEAR stands for Gemini Enterprise Agent Ready. It is Google’s AI skilling program designed to help builders, developers, line-of-business leaders, and IT decision-makers to learn, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI agents. The program combines hands-on training via Google Skills with the tools and frameworks needed to move from prototyping to production.

Is there a cost to join GEAR?

No. Joining GEAR is completely free. It is part of the Google Developer Program, and membership grants you immediate access to benefits like monthly learning credits and exclusive event invitations.

Who is this program for?

GEAR is built for everyone from "non-coding" builders to professional enterprise developers and IT leaders. Whether you want to learn the fundamentals of agentic AI, build complex reasoning loops with the Agent Development Kit (ADK), or define security governance for your organization, there is a learning path for you.

How does GEAR relate to the "Get Certified" program?

GEAR is the overarching membership program that anyone can join to start learning immediately. Get Certified is a specific, application-based cohort within GEAR reserved for employees of Google Cloud customers. You must be a registered GEAR member first before you can apply for a Get Certified cohort.

Where should I start if I’m new to AI agents?

We recommend starting with the "Intro to Agents" learning path on Google Skills. This path covers the fundamentals of agentic reasoning and is designed to get you up to speed quickly before moving on to more advanced "Build" and "Deploy" paths.

How do I control what e-mails I receive?

You control the e-mails you receive from the GEAR program by visiting the My Community section of your Developer Profile and clicking "View Settings" for GEAR.
