Region code biasing (ES)

This demonstrates sending a geocoding request for "Toledo" and receiving a result in Spain. The result returned depends on the region of the map. See also the demo for the US region.

Read the documentation or view this example full screen.

function initMap() {
  var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById('map'), {zoom: 8});
  var geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder;
  geocoder.geocode({'address': 'Toledo'}, function(results, status) {
    if (status === 'OK') {
      map.setCenter(results[0].geometry.location);
      new google.maps.Marker({
        map: map,
        position: results[0].geometry.location
      });
    } else {
      window.alert('Geocode was not successful for the following reason: ' +
          status);
    }
  });
}
<div id="map"></div>
/* Always set the map height explicitly to define the size of the div
 * element that contains the map. */
#map {
  height: 100%;
}
/* Optional: Makes the sample page fill the window. */
