Enable Cloud APIs

Your Google Cloud project is how you access the Actions Center's Maps Booking API, which is used to submit real-time updates. You must use a Google Account within the Google Cloud console for this step. You can create a new project or use an existing project. For more information, see Authenticate with Maps Booking API.

Here are the steps to enable the Cloud APIs:

  1. Choose your project: existing or new

    Use an existing Google Cloud project:

    1. Sign in to the Google Cloud console, and note down your developer email address.
    2. Navigate to the project dashboard.
    3. Find and copy your project number from the Project info section.
    4. Continue to Step 2.

    Create a new Google Cloud project:

    1. Sign in to the Google Cloud console, and note down your developer email address.
    2. Navigate to the Manage resources page in the Google Cloud console.
    3. Fill out all required fields and click Create.
    4. Navigate to the project dashboard.
    5. Find and copy your project number from the Project info section.
    6. Continue to Step 2.
  2. Enable the Google Maps Booking API:

    1. Navigate to the Google Cloud console.
    2. Click Enable APIs and Services.
    3. In the search bar, enter Google Maps Booking API.
    4. In the results, click Google Maps Booking API.
    5. Click Enable.
  3. Enable the Google Maps Booking API (Dev) version. The Google Maps Booking API (Dev) can be used to access the sandbox environment.

    1. Navigate to the Google Cloud console.
    2. Click Enable APIs and Services.
    3. In the search bar, enter Google Maps Booking API (Dev).
    4. In the results, click Google Maps Booking API (Dev).
  4. Provide your project number:

    1. Navigate to your onboarding plan in the Actions Center.
    2. Paste the Cloud project number from the project dashboard into the Set your API access field of Setup milestone.
    3. Click Submit.

After you provide your project number within the Actions Center, your project gets access to make real time update calls. API updates have a quota of 1,500 requests every 60 seconds, or 25 requests per second on average.
