iGoogle Themes API (Deprecated)

iGoogle Themes

Important: iGoogle will be retired on November 1, 2013. We are no longer accepting new theme submissions.

iGoogle, Google's personalized homepage, allows users to customize the page's design with dynamic themes. The Themes API allows you to build themes about outer space, cartoons, dogs, or anything you can dream up. This is your chance to redesign the Google homepage for tens of millions of iGoogle users!

New! Build Full Page Themes

Full page themes let you fill the entire browser window with an image. To create a full page theme, you only need to supply a high resolution image (1920x1200) that has the proper aspect ratio (16:10). iGoogle will shrink or enlarge your image as needed to fit all screen sizes.

Build Dynamic Themes

A theme can update its images based on the time of day and the day of the week. This makes it easy to create a story that unfolds throughout the day, landscapes that change as the sun rises and sets, and abstract images that become more complex over time. Creating a dynamic theme is as simple as specifying a time (or day of the week) along with visual attributes.
