Manage agents on your network

If you actively manage agents on your network, you need to approve agents to launch on your network before the agent can send traffic to end-users over your infrastructure.

If active agents behave erratically, cause spam, or break policy or agreements, you can suspend or terminate offending agents.

"The life and states of an agent"

Each agent's status on your network is fluid. All agents that want to launch on your network start in a Pending state.

If you approve the agent, it launches and can send traffic on your network.

If you reject an agent, you can work with the agent owner to resolve issues so you can approve the agent, or you can remove it from your network.

If you suspend an agent, it temporarily can't send traffic. Reactivating an agent returns it to launched status, while terminating an agent permanently removes it from your network.

Review agent launches

  1. Open the RBM Administration Console and sign in with your RBM Carrier Google account.
  2. Choose an agent with a Pending status.
  3. Assess the agent against the launch criteria for your network.
    • Navigate to Agent information to review the agent's branding.
    • Navigate to Launch to review the agent's launch information.

Approve an agent

If an agent complies with launch criteria for your network, you can approve the agent launch. When you approve an agent to launch on your network, the agent can immediately begin communicating with your end-users.

To approve an agent launch on your network,

  1. Navigate to Overview or Launch.
  2. Click Approve.

    A confirmation dialog appears.

  3. Click Approve.

Reject an agent

If an agent doesn't comply with launch criteria for your network, you can reject the agent launch. When you reject an agent, you need to provide a reason for the rejection, which Google communicates to the agent owners.

If you reject an agent, you can reach out to the agent owners to try to fix any issues you came across. You can find the agent's primary email in Agent information and the email for the individual who submitted the launch request in the agent's launch questionnaire. If you and the agent owner can resolve the issues, you can Approve the agent launch. If the issues can't be resolved, you can remove the agent from the RBM Administration Console.

To reject an agent launch on your network,

  1. Click Reject.
  2. Provide a reason for rejecting the agent.
  3. Click Reject.

Suspend an agent

When an agent behaves erratically or breaks contract, you can suspend the agent to temporarily halt traffic over your network. Suspending an agent gives you the opportunity to conduct research on the agent's recent behavior and reach out to the agent owner.

  1. Open the RBM Administration Console and sign in with your RBM Carrier Google account.
  2. Choose the agent you want to suspend.
  3. Click Suspend.
  4. Provide a reason for suspending the agent.

Google communicates reasons for suspension to agent owners.

  5. Click Suspend.

Reactivate a suspended agent

When you or an agent owner resolve an issue with a suspended agent, you can reactivate the agent to reenable traffic over your network. When you reactivate an agent, the agent can immediately begin communicating with your end-users.

To reactivate a suspended agent,

  1. Open the RBM Administration Console and sign in with your RBM Carrier Google account.
  2. Choose the agent you want to restore.
  3. Click Reactivate.

    A confirmation dialog appears.

  4. Click Reactivate.

Terminate a suspended agent

If you suspend an agent but neither you nor the agent owner can resolve the issue that prompted the suspension, you can terminate the agent. Terminating an agent removes the agent from your network and from the RBM Administration Console.

To terminate a suspended agent,

  1. Open the RBM Administration Console and sign in with your RBM Carrier Google account.
  2. Choose the agent you want to terminate.
  3. Click Terminate.
