The following describes how we applied the feedback
collection phase of the Natively Adaptive Interfaces
(NAI) approach to a specific use case: making online videos accessible to blind
and low-vision (B/LV) users.
Recruit users.
Recruited a user test panel of participants using the following criteria:
- 60% are blind, either fully or legally.
- 32% have low vision.
- 8% don't identify as having any visual impairments.
Formulate questions.
Formulated specific questions for each feature prototype.
Conduct usability testing.
Ran 25 user test sessions.
Build relationships and enable ethical practices.
Followed all recommended practices.
