Overview

Your Merchant Center account and your use of the Merchant API are subject to specific operational quotas and resource limits. Understanding these boundaries ensures efficient account management and seamless API integration.

Understanding Quotas and Limits

While both terms refer to system constraints, they govern different aspects of your Merchant Center operations.

Quotas

Quotas determine the allowable volume and rate of API requests you can make. They are organized into quota groups, which specify:

  • daily limits (quotaLimit)
  • per-minute rate limits (quotaMinuteLimit)

Depending on the service, a quota group might contain a single, specific method, or a bundle of related methods. The quota for a given group is shared among all API methods assigned to it.

For more information, see Quotas.

Merchant Center limits

Merchant Center limits define the maximum capacity for resources that you can store or manage within your Merchant Center account. These limits govern key aspects of your account, such as:

  • number of products
  • number of sub-accounts
  • number of data sources
  • other settings.

For example, the maximum number of unique products that a single account can have.
