QPOP is a ChromeOS program for peripheral partner ODMs and ICs, designed to
support our goal where all peripherals will “Just Work” on ChromeOS devices.
On this page you will find:
- Guidelines about the QPOP program
- Program benefits for partners
- A list of published peripherals specs
- Documentation for software tools used in peripherals development and support
QPOP Guidelines
Partners will need to follow the below guidelines to participate in QPOP:
- Add 3-5 Chromebooks to partner's QA process with agreed upon models
- Integrate ChromeOS test plans to partner's QA process with agreed upon
models
- Adopt ChromeOS compatible (and/or Works With Chromebook) specs in product
development with agreed upon models
- Incorporate ChromeOS FW update (via fwupd) whenever possible
- All new or existing products will need to be tested (priority to be
discussed with ChromeOS team)
- Products will only need to be retested if there is a change in
component(s) and/or major FW update release
- Share related test reports with Google for validation
- If possible, share high level shipment numbers and list of customers if
possible for OEM QPOP program outreach
- If possible, provide list of ICs/SoCs/components for reference/OTS (off the
shelf) models submitted
QPOP program benefits
Partners that are a part of QPOP will have the following program benefits:
- Access to ChromeOS Compatible & WWCB specs
- Insight to ChromeOS feature roadmap (eg. Fast Pair)
- Subsidized Chromebook test devices
- Annual Partner Summit invitation
- ChromeOS engineering support & available automated test tools
- Platform SW development support (eg. fwupd)
- Subsidized TBT testing for ChromeOS (limited quantity)
- Subsidized 3P lab qualification testing for QPOP
- Listed on the External Partner Site (if partners pass QPOP testing)
- Promote QPOP to WWCB pOEMs (e.g. email blasts, etc)
