Generally Available: You can now programmatically read, create, and manage comments in Google Slides with the Google Slides API. This includes:
- Reading comment threads and anchors by setting
commentsViewModeinpresentations.getorpresentations.pages.get. - Creating comment threads and replying to comment threads using
InsertCommentRequestandAddCommentReplyRequest. - Modifying existing comment and reply posts using
UpdateCommentPostRequest. - Deleting comments and replies using
DeleteCommentRequestandDeleteCommentReplyRequest.

Developer Preview: The Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Google Slides is now available in developer preview. MCP is an open protocol that enables seamless integration between AI applications and your presentations. By configuring the Slides MCP server, you enable AI agents to securely interact with your presentations and take actions, such as reading slide content or updating layouts.

The Google Slides API is now generally available.
