This guide provides instructions on accessing and using the MMM Data Platform ("MMM DP") as an alternative solution to the Google Ads API to export performance platform cost data required for designing and running Geo-based experiments (e.g. Meridian GeoX). Note: Pulling cost data is generally only required for go-dark and holdback studies. These instructions are for pulling cost data for US-based experiments by Designated Marketing Area (DMA) to minimize contamination. Outside of the US, geo granularity may differ per country and may not be directly applicable to Meridian GeoX.
About GeoX Experiments
Geo Experiments like Meridian GeoX allows advertisers to design, execute, and evaluate geo-targeted incrementality experiments. By measuring campaign performance across matched geographic regions, GeoX provides critical baseline and causal impact data to help refine media mix modeling (MMM) and optimize marketing investments.
