The Weather Alerts endpoint is a new external endpoint of Weather API, providing weather-related alerts from official government sources worldwide. Using the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) standard, it offers developers a single reliable source for global alerts. This endpoint will only include alerts related to weather events. By launching this endpoint, you can now avoid the work of collecting, checking, and unifying weather alert data from different government sources.

Places Count functions are now Generally Available. Places count functions are predefined SQL queries that run in BigQuery and complement querying the dataset directly. These functions enable developers to move from statistical insights to detailed action using Places IDs, bridging the gap from aggregate to unaggregated data in analysis workflows.
