Overview
The Migration Guide and FAQ show customers in Indonesia how to separate Google Cloud Platform
(GCP) and Google Maps Platform usage into separate projects.
Key points
Google Cloud Platform is launching a new entity for its services in Indonesia:
PT Google Cloud Indonesia.
Google Cloud Platform and Google Maps Platform will not be able to be billed through the
same billing account.
Customers with both Google Cloud Platform and Google Maps Platform services will need to
separate those services into separate projects.
Open the left-side menu and select Billing > Reports.
Select Show Filters and then group by SKU.
Look in the Product column:
If there is no use of a Google Cloud Platform product, then no action on any of the
billing account's projects is needed.
Otherwise, proceed to identify which projects require action by following the
remaining steps.
Add a per-project filter.
Check each project individually to see if a Google Maps Platform and Google Cloud Platform product is used.
If a project has:
GCP Only usage in IDR: No action is needed.
GCP Only usage in USD: Migrate
your GCP billing accounts to local currency payments in IDR (Indonesian Rupiahs).
Google Maps Platform Only usage in either IDR or USD: No action is needed at this time.
GCP and Google Maps Platform usage under separate projects (IDR or USD): No action is needed at this time.
GCP and Google Maps Platform usage under the same projects (IDR or USD): Separate your Google Maps Platform
usage into separate projects (see these instructions).
Note: To find out the currency of your billing account, please go to your
billing overview in the Cloud console.
Separate your Google Maps Platform usage into separate projects
If you have a billing account with both Google Cloud Platform and Google Maps Platform usage under the same
projects, follow these steps to separate your Google Maps Platform usage into new, separate projects.
Why is Google Cloud launching PT Google Cloud Indonesia?
The Google Cloud organization is launching PT Google Cloud Indonesia in order to better serve
local Google Cloud Platform customers. Google Cloud Platform customers will move from USD to
local currency payments in IDR (Indonesian Rupiahs).
Why can’t Google Cloud Platform and Google Maps Platform services be billed
on the same billing account?
Due to local laws and regulations, Google Cloud Platform usage has to be billed through Google
Cloud Indonesia in IDR and Google Maps Platform usage has to be billed through Google Asia Pacific in USD.
Why do I need to separate my usage?
To better prepare for the launch of PT Google Cloud Indonesia, we are asking all customers to
separate their usage in anticipation of the launch. In the near future, you will be able to create
a business-specific billing account for either Google Cloud Platform or Google Maps Platform usage.
What are the Google Maps Platform Maps, Routes, and Places products
that need to be separated from Google Cloud Platform products?
Please find the list of all of Google Maps Platform APIs
here.
Will I be able to create specific billing accounts for both
Google Maps Platform and Google Cloud Platform services?
In the near future, when creating a new billing account in Indonesia, you will be asked to
choose the business the billing account will pay for. It will either be a Google Cloud Platform
account or a Google Maps Platform account.
Will I be able to pay for Google Maps Platform usage in IDR?
Google Maps Platform usage will be billed in USD only.
