Address Validation API Usage and Billing

Reminder: To use the Address Validation API, you must enable billing on each of your projects and include an API key or OAuth token with all API or SDK requests.

The Address Validation API uses a pay-as-you-go pricing model. Along with the overall Google Terms of Use, there are usage limits specific to the Address Validation API. Manage your costs and usage with tools available in the Google Cloud Console.

How the Address Validation API is billed

The Address Validation API uses a pay-as-you-go pricing model. The Google Maps Platform APIs and SDKs are billed by SKU. Usage is tracked for each SKU, and any API or SDK may have more than one product SKU. Cost is calculated by

Use our Pricing and Usage calculator to estimate your usage cost per API or SDK. For qualifying Google Maps Platform SKUs, a $200 USD Google Maps Platform credit is available each month for each billing account. This credit is automatically applied¹ to the qualifying SKUs.

Note: Address Validation Preferred is in Preview. The pricing information is published for informational use only. Usage during Preview is discounted to $0.

Address Validation Preferred works with the Autocomplete (New) endpoint of the Places API when you use it with sessions that terminate with a call to the Address Validation API. Specifically, sessions that use Autocomplete (New) and terminate in either a request to validateAddress (REST) or ValidateAddress (gRPC) fall under this pricing model.

When using Address Validation Preferred at the end of an Autocomplete (New) session, you are billed as follows:

Other usage limits

While there are no maximum number of requests per day, the following usage limits are still in place for the Address Validation API.

• Maximum Queries per Minute (QPM): 6,000

Note: The limit for the validation methods is separate from the limit for the feedback methods. That is, the validateAddress (REST) and ValidateAddress (gRPC) methods have a 6,000 QPM limit independent of the 6,000 QPM limit for the provideValidationFeedback (REST) and ProvideValidationFeedback (gRPC) methods.

Manage your cost of use

To manage your cost of use of the Address Validation API or to meet the demands of your production traffic, set daily quota limits on all requests to any API. Daily quotas are reset at midnight Pacific time.

Note: You can set daily billable quota limits on billable APIs only. If your project doesn't use any billable APIs, then you can't set daily limits.

To view or change quota limits for the Address Validation API:

1. In the Cloud Console, open the Google Maps Platform Quotas page.
2. Click the APIs drop-down and select the Address Validation API.
3. To view the quota limits, scroll down to the Requests card.
   A table lists the quota names and limits.
4. To change a quota limit, click the Edit icon for that limit.
   In the dialog that appears, in the Quota Limit field, enter the preferred billable daily quota limit (up to the quota limit, if any, specified by Google) and select Save.

If your API usage reaches your billable quota limit on any given day, your application will not be able to access the API for the remainder of that day.
