Mark is a user experience practitioner and leader with 25 years of experience in a variety of design contexts. In the past he has led design teams, initiatives, and projects for enterprise (Platform Computing), consumers (Maptuit Corporation), health care (Karos Health Incorporated), and more (Boltmade). He has taught design at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as delivering numerous workshops. He is pleased to have been described as “a designer with the sensibilities of an artist and the skills of an engineer”.
He’s currently President at Zeitspace, a software product design and development consultancy in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. There he helps the team develop strong design and development practices and build great software products for the company’s range of clients. As a leader in the UX community, Mark is co-founder and co-chair of Fluxible, an annual conference that has become a fixture on the international UX calendar and put Waterloo Region on the map for the global UX community during its six years of existence. He also leads uxWaterloo, the local chapter of the IxDA and an active monthly meet up.
