  • This MODIS dataset provides daily Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) globally from 2000-02-24 to 2017-03-30.

  • NDVI values range from -1.0 to 1.0 and are calculated as (NIR - Red) / (NIR + Red) from MODIS surface reflectance composites.

  • This dataset has been superseded by a newer version, MODIS/MOD09GA_006_NDVI, which is recommended for use.

  • There are no restrictions on the use, sale, or redistribution of this data.
