Prerequisites

  • This page provides information on how to integrate NXP MIFARE DESFire, MIFARE Plus CMD2/ITSO, or EMVCo Private Label Card protocols.

  • Users can select their desired protocol to learn about specific integration prerequisites.

Select one of the following protocols to learn more about the prerequisites for its integration process.

This section outlines the prerequisites to start the integration process with the NXP MIFARE DESFire or MIFARE Plus protocols:

  • Sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Google. This click-to-accept online form is shared by Google's business development team.
  • Engage with NXP to get a TSH license, and agree to their terms and conditions.
  • Confirm that fare validators and terminals tapped through Host Card Emulation (HCE) are ISO/IEC 14443 A 1-4 and ISO/IEC 7816 compliant. Google Wallet won't work with MIFARE Classic and does not support "native commands" through HCE. Any outdated terminals need to be upgraded to support MIFARE DESFire or MIFARE Plus, with ISO-wrapped commands.
  • Ensure that your Android-powered phones have the latest Google Play services version.
  • Adhere to our Terms of Service guidelines and the Google Play developer policy for payments.

If you meet all of these prerequisite requirements, fill out the Interest form for Google Wallet Transit.
