OR Middle Mile Optimization API

The Middle Mile Optimization API is a Google Operations Research service that exposes a stateful solver catering to needs in middle-mile logistics. This solver runs on Google's infrastructure and can be consumed as a REST API or through gRPC.

In logistics, the middle mile is the part of the chain that moves goods from one warehouse (also called distribution center) to another. Companies operating in the middle mile typically refer to their services as FTL (full truckload) or LTL (less-than-truckload).

The first and last miles are concerned with the pickup and delivery of goods to their final customers, typically using smaller trucks. Companies in this segment might find that the Route Optimization API is a good fit for their needs.

Limitations on usage

The solver is only available to selected partners under a Trusted Tester Agreement. It is in Alpha stability level and is not suited for production needs.
