ReportGoogleLocations

The ReportGoogleLocations API endpoint allows you to report issues that you have with either RecommendGoogleLocations or GoogleLocations results. The location issue reports help Google suggest location recommendations that belong in your account. They also keep Google Maps and your account clean of any closed or nonexistent locations.

The exact use of the endpoint depends on which type of location you want to report.

When you report RecommendGoogleLocations issues, you keep your list of recommendations clean of irrelevant entries. Your report also helps train Google’s recommendation model to deliver better results to you in the future.

To report a RecommendGoogleLocations issue, complete the following steps:

  1. Find the GoogleLocations name in accounts.listRecommendGoogleLocations.
  2. Select a BadRecommendationReason. If the location in question isn’t part of the managed chain, or is irrelevant to your account, provide more details in the reportReasonElaboration field.
  3. Call the googleLocations.report endpoint, specify the location’s name in the URL, and report the reason in the body. The location gets removed from your recommendations and helps train our recommendation models.

If the location also has data quality issues, follow the instructions to Report a GoogleLocations issue.
