Getting started with Agentic UI toolkit

Experimental: Agentic UI toolkit is in the Experimental (pre-GA) stage. Pre-GA products and features might have limited support, and changes to pre-GA products and features might not be compatible with other pre-GA versions. Pre-GA Offerings are covered by the Google Maps Platform Service Specific Terms. For more information, see the launch stage descriptions. There is no charge for using Agentic UI toolkit while it is in the Experimental stage, but it may call other Google Maps Platform tools or services that do incur a charge.

This guide helps you get started with the Maps Platform Agentic UI toolkit.

1. API Keys

Initialize the toolkit with a Google Gemini API key. You can get one at no charge from Google AI Studio.

You will also need a Google Maps Platform API key to allow the toolkit to render maps and call other Geo tools. You can create a key and enable the necessary APIs in the Google Cloud Console.

Your Google Maps Platform API Key must have the following APIs enabled:

• Geocoding API
• Maps JavaScript API
• Places UI Kit
• Routes API

To use Grounding Lite MCP, you must also enable Maps Grounding Lite API.

2. Access the toolkit and samples on GitHub

The toolkit is available on GitHub and samples are available in the samples repository.
