What is GTAC?
The Google Test Automation Conference (GTAC) is an annual test automation conference hosted by Google. It brings together engineers from industry and academia to discuss advances in test automation and the test engineering computer science field. It is a great opportunity to present, learn, and challenge modern testing technologies and strategies. The talks will focus on trends we are seeing in industry combined with compelling talks on tools and infrastructure that can have a direct impact on our products. We are committed towards creating a conference that is focused on testing for engineers by engineers!
I thought you announced the next GTAC was scheduled for Spring 2017?
Based on feedback from the last GTAC (2015) and the increasing demand every year, we have decided to keep GTAC on a fall schedule. This schedule is a change from what we previously announced.
Is there a cost for GTAC?
There is no registration fee for GTAC, but registration is limited due to limited physical space. Travel and any other expenses are the attendee’s responsibility.
I registered for GTAC, I didn’t receive a confirmation email, did you get my registration?
This is normal, our system does not send out confirmation emails when registering. Rest assured that if you filled out the whole registration form and submitted it, we have your registration. We'll be applying our selection process after registration closes, and will send out responses them.
What is the selection process for GTAC?
We randomly choose attendees from those who apply, with different weights for new comers vs. repeat attendees, and then spot check the results to make sure we have a reasonable distribution across geographical, experience level, and other factors that we collect on the registration form.

Details will be posted on the Google Testing Blog, Twitter feed, and GTAC site a day or two before the event starts.
What is the GTAC code of conduct?
Google is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive conference experience for everyone regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, differing abilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, or other protected category. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks. Google takes these violations of our policy seriously and will respond appropriately. All attendees of GTAC must abide by our anti-harassment policy.
What is the GTAC Diversity Statement?
At GTAC, we welcome and encourage participation by everyone. We are committed to being a community that everyone feels good about joining. Although we may not be able to satisfy everyone, we will always work to treat everyone well. Standards for behavior at GTAC are outlined in our Code of Conduct. We expect participants in our community to meet these standards in all their interactions and to help others to do so as well. Whenever any participant has made a mistake, we expect them to take responsibility for it. If someone has been harmed or offended, it is our responsibility to listen carefully and respectfully, and do our best to right the wrong. Although this list cannot be exhaustive, we explicitly honor diversity in age, culture, ethnicity, genotype, gender identity or expression, geographical identity or origin, language, national origin, neurotype, phenotype, political beliefs, profession, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and subculture. Some of the ideas and wording for this statement were based on work by the Python and Ubuntu communities (CC-BY-SA 3.0).
