How visual data powers shared AR experiences
Stay organized with collections
Save and categorize content based on your preferences.
With apps powered by Google's AR platform, ARCore, you can enjoy multiplayer or
collaborative AR experiences. To understand your physical environment, ARCore
uploads images from your device's camera to Google servers. These images are
processed to extract the visual data needed to allow multiple users to view and
interact with virtual objects in a shared physical space.
What to know about data storage
Images are automatically deleted after processing by Google servers.
Visual data is securely stored on Google servers and isn't accessible to app
developers.
To enable shared experiences, apps are required to request camera permissions
and to notify users that Google is processing visual data from the
camera.
No personally identifiable information is stored and shared experiences aren't
linked to user accounts.
