The Gmail add-on https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.addons.execute scope is no longer required for Gmail add-ons. Apps Script and Gmail now ignore this scope if it is present in an add-on's manifest.

All add-ons are now in the G Suite Marketplace.

To streamline the add-on discovery experience for users in the G Suite Marketplace, publication of both public and private add-ons to the Chrome Web Store is deprecated. Chrome extensions continue to be presented in the Chrome Web Store and aren't affected by this change.

March 2019

March 15, 2019

The documentation for Gmail Add-ons has been consolidated into this set of Add-on documentation. As part of this move, much of the existing add-on documentation was reorganized for better presentation.

August 2018

August 17, 2018

This documentation set was created by migrating existing pages out of the Apps Script documentation. The Add-on documentation has been moved in an effort to make add-ons more discoverable and improve site navigation.

In the coming months the Add-ons documentation will continue to be expanded and revised to create a better developer learning experience.
