Evaluations

There are three times during the coding phase of GSoC where mentors evaluate their students progress and students evaluate their mentors.

Below are examples of the questions that may be asked during each of these evaluations.

Mentor

First

  • When did you first communicate with your student?
  • How often do you and your student communicate?
  • How do you communicate with your student?
  • How many hours do you spend on your student's project per week?
  • How often do you require status updates from your student?
  • Rate the quality of your student's interactions with the project mentor(s)
  • Please rate the quality of your student's interactions with your organization and community.
  • How would you rate your student's performance overall?
  • Is your student on track to complete his/her project?
  • What is the quality of code/work your student has produced so far?
  • For this evaluation, should your student pass or fail?
  • (If applicable) Why did you fail your student?

Second

  • How often do you and your student communicate?
  • How many hours do you spend on your student's project per week?

Final

  • How many hours do you spend on your student's project per week?
