Steps to upgrade

1. Follow the steps in Set up API access to enable the Data Manager API and generate credentials.

   Note: The Data Manager API requires credentials with a different scope than the Display & Video 360 API. You must generate new credentials that include the Data Manager API scope.

2. Install a client library.

3. Create or retrieve a Customer Match audience. Use the Audience management field mappings to convert your Display & Video 360 API requests to Data Manager API requests.

4. Use Upload field mappings to convert your Display & Video 360 API upload requests to Data Manager API ingestion requests.

5. Send audience members to your Display & Video 360 account using the converted requests.

6. Verify the success of the data upload using diagnostics and, if ingesting user data, checking the match rate range.

Important things to consider

Consider the following when uploading user data for Display & Video 360 Customer Match audiences.

• Your Display & Video 360 partner must meet set requirements before successfully uploading user data to Display & Video 360 Customer Match audiences.

• In the Display & Video 360 API, any requests that upload user data with signals noting denied user consent returned an error. In the Data Manager API, these requests will be successful, but the denied consent will keep the user data from being used.
