An entry point is a button or other mechanism that initiates a conversation. It specifies the product or interface the user interacted with to start talking to an agent.
Business Messages supports a variety of entry points, including Maps, featured snippets, and Placesheet. Some types of entry points are location-based, meaning they rely on locations you have configured and associated with your agent. Others are non-local, not relying on any location information.
You can setup your agent to behave differently depending on the entry point. For example, if a user who starts a conversation with your agent from a location-based entry point such as Maps, you can provide information specific to that location, such as opening hours or available inventory. Likewise, you may wish to provide users from non-local entry points more general information about the business.
