Quero usar a criptografia do lado do cliente com um Cloud KMS

O Tink permite realizar a criptografia do lado do cliente de alguns dados e proteger suas chaves usando um sistema de gerenciamento de chaves (KMS, na sigla em inglês) na nuvem. Isso funciona da seguinte maneira:

  1. O cliente gera uma chave de criptografia de dados (DEK, na sigla em inglês).
  2. Os dados são criptografados usando a DEK pelo cliente.
  3. A DEK é criptografada por uma chave de criptografia de chaves (KEK, na sigla em inglês) armazenada em um KMS na nuvem.

Ao usar um KMS na nuvem, sua KEK fica protegida na nuvem, onde você pode girá-la, desativá-la ou destruí-la, dependendo das suas necessidades.

Com o Tink, é possível realizar a criptografia do lado do cliente com um KMS na nuvem de duas maneiras:

  • Usando a primitiva AEAD de envelope do KMS (KmsEnvelopeAead) – Para cada criptografia, o Tink cria uma nova DEK AEAD, a criptografa com uma KEK do KMS na nuvem e a armazena como parte do texto criptografado. Assim, você não precisa processar a DEK . Como consequência, o texto criptografado é um pouco mais longo porque inclui a DEK criptografada. Além disso, sempre que você criptografa ou descriptografa, o Tink faz uma RPC para o KMS (a descriptografia ou criptografia real dos dados é realizada localmente).

  • Usando outra primitiva e criptografando o conjunto de chaves com o KMS na nuvem – Isso é mais flexível, já que você pode usar primitivas diferentes de AEAD e limitar as chamadas para o KMS na nuvem.

AEAD de envelope do KMS

Ao criptografar dados com a primitiva KmsEnvelopeAead, o Tink faz o seguinte:

  1. Gera uma DEK aleatória e criptografa seus dados localmente com ela.
  2. Faz uma solicitação ao KMS para criptografar a DEK com a KEK do KMS.
  3. Concatena a DEK de criptografia criptografada por KEK com os dados criptografados.

O tipo de DEK e o URI da KEK são especificados na chave KmsEnvelopeAead. Ao descriptografar, o Tink faz as operações inversas:

  1. Extrai a chave DEK criptografada por KEK.
  2. Faz uma solicitação ao KMS para descriptografar a DEK criptografada por KEK.
  3. Descriptografa o texto criptografado localmente usando a DEK.

O exemplo a seguir mostra como usar a primitiva KmsEnvelopeAead.
