One Tap and Sign In With Google

On March 31, 2023, we will fully retire the Google Sign-In JavaScript Platform Library and would like to remind you to check if this affects your web application, and if necessary, to plan for a migration.

Beginning April 30th, 2022 new applications must use the Google Identity Services library, existing apps may continue using the Platform Library until the deprecation date.

Announcing the addition of the authorization feature, all under the same unified Google Identity Services SDK, which further increases the value of our suite of identity solutions and makes it simpler for developers to implement. The updated library now provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for developers across both authentication and authorization.

Sign In With Google

Add a visibly trusted and secure Sign In With Google button to your app.

Users sign-in to a Google Account once, without re-entering username or password when visiting your site. On return visits sign users in automatically or with one click.

Create new accounts with a single tap and get assisted signed-in across devices, reducing the risk of duplicate accounts and forgotten passwords.

Securely store and retrieve username/password credentials, avoiding users having to re-enter credentials on return visits.

Google's OAuth 2.0 APIs conform to the OpenID Connect specification, are OpenID Certified, and can be used for both authentication and authorization.

While we normally recommend the use of Sign In With Google for user authentication, in some situations you may want to call our APIs directly.

Share data with privacy and security in mind

Use OAuth 2.0 and our Client libraries to quickly and securely call Google APIs.

Google supports common OAuth 2.0 scenarios such as those for web server, client-side, installed, and limited-input device applications.

Integrate your services and APIs with Google, share media and data with Google Assistant, Smart Home, YouTube and more. After obtaining user consent securely link an individual Google account with an account on your platform with OAuth 2.0 standard flows.

Improve user privacy with custom scopes, sharing only the data necessary for a specific use case. Increase user trust by clearly communicating how Google uses this data.

Improve user security

Firebase Authentication also provides UI libraries to implement a full authentication experience in your app.
