Question Configuration Guide

Rating Scale

Rating Scale questions allow respondents to quantify their responses by answering on a 5, 7, 10, or 11 star rating scale.

...minimal configuration

For the most basic configuration for a Rating Scale type question, you will just need to supply the low and high values for the scale as the lowValueLabel and highValueLabel values. This will create the default rating scale with 5 stars.

 {
   "question": "How much?",
   "lowValueLabel": "Not much.",
   "highValueLabel": "A lot!",
   "type": "ratingScale"
 }

...more stars!

You also have the option of adding more stars to your rating scale. Do this by setting the numStars value to either "five", "seven", "ten", or "eleven". Note that these are currently the only options; you cannot have a question with, say, nine stars.

"questions": [
 {
   "question": "How much do you love stars?",
   "numStars": "eleven",
   "lowValueLabel": "Hearts would really be better.",
   "highValueLabel": "Infinitely",
   "type": "ratingScale"
 }
