We prefer all App Engine projects be written in the Python language. We do allow for the use of Java and Go, but please be sure to clear this usage with your ATL, PMM, or project owner before beginning development. Currently we have two approved frameworks, both Python based.
Google App Engine Secure Scaffold
It is highly recommended (and in most cases required) that all agency produced code is built on the Google App Engine Secure Scaffold. This contains a boilerplate AppEngine application meant to provide a secure base on which to build additional functionality.
You can find the scaffold on Github, get answer to frequently answered questions about it in the FAQ section.
For pruely static sites, there's a simpler approach outlined in the Building a Secure Static Site page.
This is a barebones Django project configured for use on App Engine using Djangae. To learn more visit the Github project page.
