Running Dead Code Analysis

You may run dead code analysis by selecting 'Find Dead Code' item in 'CodePro Tools' element of context popup menu. This will trigger a view with results of the analysis.

For each project you can configure which methods will be considered as entry points. To do that, you need to open the property sheet of the project and navigate to the "Dead Code Entry Points" page.

After it you will see a form that allows you to configure the options of the analysis:

Here you can manually pick the classes and methods to consider as entry points. Additionally, the following automatic options are available:

  • Consider main methods as entry points - This option allows to automatically mark all 'main' methods as entry points for analysis
  • Consider test cases as entry points - This options allows to automatically mark all JUnit test cases as entry points for analysis

After configuring analysis you may run it by selecting one or many projects in Package Explorer and choose 'Find Dead Code' item in 'CodePro Tools' element of context popup menu.
