Release Notes

This page contains the release notes for the currently active versions of Google's DoubleClick for Advertisers API.

In between major releases, we typically push a new beta version about once a month. We do this to test new features or fixes, and you can run your code against the beta to see how your code works. These beta pushes are not documented, but you can see the changes in the WSDL pages. Beta changes are not rolled into the production version until a new production version is released.

Service, Method, and Object Changes

This version exposes many new fields useful for generating match tables.

Service changes

  • Creative service:
    • New operation: getRichMediaStandardEvents
    • New object: RichMediaStandardEvent
  • Placement service:
    • New operation: getPlacementSummaryRecordSet
    • New objects: PlacementSummary, PlacementSummaryRecordSet, PlacementSummarySearchCriteria

Object changes

  • Ad service:
    • CitySearchCriteria now has an ids field, allowing you to search for cities with the specified ID.
    • ClickThroughUrl now has a computedClickThroughUrl field, which shows you the click through URL even if landing pages are being used.
    • DesignatedMarketArea now has an internalDmaId field, which is the internal ID number we use for the DMA.
  • Campaign service:
    • Campaign now has an advancedAdServiceEnabled field, mutable only when your network is enabled for Dynamic Creatives
  • Creative service:
    • CreativeBase now has a modifiedDate field showing the last time the creative was modified.
    • CreativeBase now has a renderingId read-only field.
    • CreativeSearchCriteria now has a renderingIds field, allowing you to search for creatives by rendering ID
    • RichMediaCounterEventBase now has a metEventId read-only field.
  • CreativeField service:
    • CreativeField now has a slotNumber read-only field, showing the display order number.
  • Placement service:
    • Campaign now has an advancedAdServiceEnabled field, mutable only when your network is enabled for Dynamic Creatives
    • ClickThroughUrl now has a compuedClickThroughUrl field, which shows you the click through URL even if landing pages are being used.
    • DesignatedMarketArea now has an internalDmaId field, which is the internal ID number we use for the DMA.
    • Placement now has a keyname read-only field.
    • Placement now has a spotlightActivityId field, showing which spotlight activity ID is associated with this placement if this is a CPA placement.

Service, Method, and Object Changes

  • All services only support HTTPS connections.
  • Login Service
    • The authenticate operation now allows you to leave the password field blank and use an OAuth2 token instead. See Authenticating for more information.
