I am a freelance software engineer and WordPress consultant living in Germany. I have been developing software in one capacity or another for the past 30 years, ranging from hacking graphics card memory in Assembler to developing games all the way over to planning and overseeing corporate networks in Oracle or Sharepoint ecosystems. I am currently the maintainer of WP-CLI, the command-line interface for WordPress and I work on WordPress Core itself as a contributor and component maintainer. I offer higher-level consulting, code reviews and software design coaching, enabling companies to deal with frequent change and ever-growing complexity while optimizing for reduced maintenance effort and lower total cost of ownership. Passionate about software architecture and code quality, I never miss an opportunity to share best practices and try to live up to my educational aspirations through public speaking and blogging. You can read my thoughts on code & other things at https://www.alainschlesser.com or say hello on Twitter under the handle @schlessera.
