Android Auto supporta 3 tipi principali di widget di sistema per aiutare gli utenti a svolgere più attività contemporaneamente:
Widget Telefono per controllare le chiamate in corso
Widget di navigazione che consentono di visualizzare istruzioni passo passo quando non si trovano su Maps
Widget multimediali per controllare la riproduzione dei contenuti multimediali in corso mentre sono in altre app
I widget mostrano l'icona dell'app e le informazioni sull'app o fino a tre controlli delle app. La decisione sul widget da mostrare nella barra di navigazione in un determinato momento si basa sulle app aperte e sulle loro priorità per i conducenti.
Widget Telefono
Se l'utente è impegnato in una telefonata mentre sullo schermo è visualizzata un'altra app, nella barra di navigazione viene visualizzato il widget tastiera. Con il widget tastiera, l'utente può controllare la telefonata senza passare da una schermata all'altra.
In questo caso, il widget tastiera fornisce opzioni per disattivare l'audio o terminare la chiamata senza uscire dalla schermata della mappa
Widget di navigazione
Il widget di navigazione fornisce informazioni passo passo utili quando la schermata della mappa non è visualizzata.
Qui il widget di navigazione fornisce informazioni su una svolta imminente mentre l'utente naviga e riproduce contenuti multimediali
Widget multimediali
Il widget multimediale offre fino a tre controlli per i contenuti in riproduzione quando l'app multimediale non è visualizzata sullo schermo. Gli sviluppatori di app possono decidere quali controlli sono più utili da mostrare per le loro app.
Gli esempi riportati di seguito mostrano le versioni del widget multimediale utilizzate per due diverse app multimediali.
YouTube Music
Questo widget multimediale mostra il logo di YouTube Music e i controlli per saltare indietro, sospendere la riproduzione della musica o passare alla traccia successiva
Podcast
Questo widget multimediale per un'app di podcast offre opzioni per tornare indietro nel tempo, mettere in pausa il podcast o andare avanti nel tempo
