The developer branding guidelines for the Assistant set forth approved guidelines for use of Google trademarks which you should consider when naming, describing or designing your action. Your use of any Google trademarks or logos is subject to the Google Permissions.
Promoting the badge
You can let others know that your action “Works with the Google Assistant” using the badges seen here. You do not need pre-approval to use this badge provided your action is functional, compatible with the Google Assistant and your developer account is in good standing. Your action must be available at all times when using the badge.
Please be sure that your use of the badge is consistent with the Google Assistant Terms of Service and the branding guidelines below – otherwise we'll ask for modifications or cease your use of the badge.
High-res assets and guidelines on placing the badge
When using the “Works with the Google Assistant" badge in marketing executions or on your site, we ask that you follow these rules and understand the restrictions:
Do not modify the badge in any way, other than resizing. If you need to resize the badge, preserve the ratio, and ensure the badge is legible and fully visible. See the badge restrictions.
Do not make the badge the primary element on your page.
Keep distance between the badge and other logos and icons on your page as suggested on the visual guidelines you see in this doc.
Do not use the badge on a page that contains any adult content, promotes gambling, promotes violence, contains hate speech, involves the sale of tobacco or alcohol to persons under twenty-one years of age, violates other applicable laws or regulations or is otherwise objectionable.
If you are planning to use the badge on physical packaging you will need to get written permission from Google.
Don’t alter the badge colors.
Don’t add elements to the badge.
Don’t flip the badge.
Don’t rotate the logo.
Don’t skew or warp the badge.
Don’t change the arrangement of the badge.
Don’t crop the badge.
Don’t make one-color versions.
Choosing an action or developer name
It’s fine to say that your action works with the Google Assistant. However, please do not use any Google trademarks or any confusingly similar marks as the name of your action or company without written permission from Google.
Also do not register a domain containing “Google,” “Google Assistant,” or any other Google trademarks (including misspellings, transliterations or similar variations) if it might make people think that Google provides or officially supports anything offered from that domain.
Using Google logos
Do not use Google trademarks or modified versions of Google trademarks as the logo for your action without written permission from Google. Feel free to continue using our badges in your action subject to the branding guidelines for each of those badges (for example, YouTube).
If you notice any improper usage of Google logos and trademarks, we’d appreciate it if you let us know.
Describing your action
If your action is compatible with a Google product, make reference to that Google product by using the text "for", "for use with", or "compatible with", and be sure to include the ™ symbol with the Google trademark. For example: for YouTube™.
If you are making reference to a Google trademark in combination with your logo, the referencing text should be smaller in size than your logo.
State clearly that your service is "not created by, affiliated with, or supported by Google Inc."
For illustrative or informative purposes, you may use standard, unaltered screenshots of Google services. For further details, check out the Google Permissions page.
Giving proper attribution
Do give proper attribution to Google for any use of its marks in your action title or in your description. For example: Android is a trademark of Google Inc.
Using voice UI
You should not use a voice that is similar to the one of the Google Assistant. Users should always be able to clearly discern when they interact with your action vs their Google Assistant.
